Lakeport police Monday were searching for a man suspected of threatening a home health aide with a knife.

Allen Lee Timms Jr., 28, of Lakeport is suspected of chasing the woman around her client's home and demanded she provide the client more pain medication, Chief Brad Rasmussen said.

The woman called police to report the incident at about 5:35 p.m. Saturday at a home of a 52-year-old man on First Street. Police said Timms is a friend of the man.

Timms is suspected of confronting the man's caretaker, a 42-year-old Kelseyville woman, Rasmussen said.

Timms apparently confronted the woman and claimed the client wasn't receiving enough pain medication, Rasmussen said. The woman "advised Timms that he needed to allow her to do her job and his anger escalated at which time she asked him to leave," Rasmussen said in a statement.

Timms chased the woman with a folding knife throughout the house, at one point forcing his way through a bedroom door and knocking the woman down, according to Rasmussen. The woman got away, ran out of the house and called police.
