Lakeport police broke up a confrontation outside a bar that witnesses said at one point involved about 30 people, authorities said.
People in a hostile crowd outside the Clearlake Club Bar on North Main Street were challenging each other to a fight when officers arrived at about 10:45 p.m. Saturday, Lakeport Police Chief Brad Rasmussen said.
Officers arrested three men on suspicion of fighting or challenging another to fight in public: Timothy Fredrico Navarro, 30, and Jeremy Dale Treadaway, 26, both of Lakeport and Marcos Gonzalez, 25, of Kelseyville, Rasmussen said.
After detaining the men in patrol cars, officers tried to arrest a man spotted challenging others, but he was hostile and resisted arrest. Officers called for backup and with additional help arrested James Lee Kollenborn, 56, of Redwood Valley on suspicion of challenging a person to a fight and resisting arrest, Rasmussen said.
Jami Renee White, 29, of Kelseyville tried to interfere with officers and was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication, Rasmussen said.
Officers told the rest of the crowd to disperse and remained outside the bar for about 45 minutes until the area was clear.
