A young woman died in a truck crash late Sunday night in west Sonoma County, the CHP said.
She had been driving on rural Bloomfield Road near the community of Bloomfield when her pickup left the roadway and smashed into a eucalyptus tree.
The initial investigation indicated the woman was from Point Reyes Station, the CHP said. Her name wasn't being released Monday morning pending notification of her family.
She was thrown from the truck, which rolled and stopped on top of her.
Gold Ridge firefighters responded to the call and found the driver had died.
Darren DeCarli, Gold Ridge battalion chief, said firefighters used a variety of equipment, including some they borrowed from Sebastopol Fire, to lift the truck.
The CHP and Gold Ridge firefighters remained at the scene for hours for the crash investigation.
The crash occurred about one-quarter mile west of Burnside Road.
