The driver of a Ford Explorer that overturned Thursday morning on Highway 1 south of Bodega Bay escaped major injury and was able to climb from his rolled vehicle on his own, the CHP said.
Initial reports on the 6:54 a.m. crash near Bodega Harbor suggested serious injuries might be involved.
But despite disorientation reported on the part of the driver, it appeared he would not be headed to a hospital, emergency dispatchers said.
An ambulance remained on the scene. No additional details were immediately available.
