Clearlake storage unit worker suspected of burglary

A caretaker of a storage facility in Clearlake was arrested Monday on suspicion of burglarizing units he was supposed to be protecting and selling the items in a nearby thrift store he operated.

Nick Hoskins, the caretaker at B&K Storage on Old Highway 53 in Clearlake, was arrested on suspicion of burglary, drug possession and being a felon in possession of firearms.

Hoskins is also the owner and operator of a thrift store located just a few hundred feet down the road from the facility where he worked.

Police served search warrants on both his home and the store, finding items in both that had previously been reported stolen from the units.

Police said they also found a rifle and a blowgun in Hoskins' home as well as methamphetamine.
