Santa Rosa police Sunday night were investigating a possible home-invasion robbery in a neighborhood off of West Third Street.

Two injured men ran to a neighbor's home on Carina Drive at about 6:30 p.m. and said they had been robbed, Sgt. Brad Conners said.

The men were hurt during an encounter with two other men who either barged into or were let into the victims' split-level home, Conners said.

It was unclear what, if anything, was stolen.

One suspect was armed with a handgun or a submachine gun and the other may have wielded a machete, initial reports indicated.

No one was shot and the men's injuries were not life-threatening, Conners said. At least one was taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital.

The suspects were described as wearing black hooded sweatshirts and they fled west on West Third Street in a black sedan, possibly an Infinity or Acura.

Further details were unavailable as police were interviewing the victims and neighbors.
