Petaluma man accused of gun threat, arrested

Petaluma police say they have arrested a suspect in an Aug. 30 incident in which a man threatened another with a gun at the Petaluma Marina.

Damien Christensen, 35, of Petaluma was arrested Thursday afternoon and charged with assault with a deadly weapon, making criminal threats, and and false imprisonment, according to a department release.

Police say a witness had reported a confrontation between two men, one of whom brandished a gun. When officers arrived, both the victim and suspect had left the scene.

Officers focused on Christensen as a suspect after a discussion with the victim, who contacted police later. The department did not say what led to the initial incident.
