Sebastopol schools Superintendent Liz Schott has been named the new superintendent of Kentfield School District in Marin County. Her first day is July 1.
Schott was named a finalist for the top post at the 1,200-student district in February. The move was made official by a Kentfield School Board vote Wednesday.
Schott will earn $177,500 annually plus a $500 a month car allowance. She currently earns approximately $125,000 as superintendent in Sebastopol, where she also is principal at the kindergarten through eighth grade Brook Haven School. She also oversees special education programs.
Schott's departure comes at a time when the district is experiencing steep declining enrollment and the prospect of closing a school and consolidating campuses.
The five-member Sebastopol School Board will meet Monday night, when they are expected to discuss plans for finding Schott's replacement. Her final day is June 14.
