A suspected drunken Vallejo man was arrested after he sped up Highway 101 at 108 mph, the CHP said.

The driver passed a CHP officer, who was parked on the side of Highway 101 in Cotati watching for speeders.

At about 10:30 p.m. Saturday, a 1990 Honda Accord registered 108 on the officer's hand-held LIDAR speed detector, according to the CHP.

The officer caught up to the driver and stopped him north of Golf Course Drive.

Officers determined Donald Wilder Jr., 39, was intoxicated. He was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving and taken to the Sonoma County Jail.
