Witnesses stopped a suspected drunken driver Tuesday after the woman drove over a small tree and through a trash can in Sebastopol's new downtown area known as the Barlow.
The woman had been trying to leave the area but witnesses caught up to her and convinced her to wait for officers, said police.
She crashed just before 1 p.m. hitting the tree and can near Morris Street.
Driver Juliana Morris, 32, of Sebastopol was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and hit and run.
Morris was found to be extremely intoxicated, with a blood-alcohol percentage of almost three times the .08 legal limit, police said.
She was taken to the Sonoma County Jail.
The Barlow is a former apple cannery on the city's eastern edge of downtown that has been converted to a center for food makers and includes tasting rooms and other businesses.
