Driver on suspended license suffers major injuries in Stony Point Road crash

A man driving on a suspended license hopped over a drainage ditch in his pickup, hit three trees and took out 35 feet of chain link fence Wednesday after driving off Stony Point Road.

Antonio Cardoso, 63, of Santa Rosa, was driving about 50 mph just north of Scenic Avenue when he crashed at about 2:05 p.m., CHP Officer Eric Hill said. The driver was not suspected of DUI, Hill said.

Cardoso was taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital with major injuries, possibly a fractured pelvis, Hill said.
