Two adults and their pets were displaced from a Rohnert Park apartment Monday night after a fire broke out.
A resident at a Civic Center Drive apartment just off Rohnert Park Expressway called 911 just before 9 p.m. to report a fire in his unit, dispatch officials said.
Firefighters quickly contained the blaze to just one unit in the multi-unit complex, a Rohnert Park dispatch official said.
Rohnert Park firefighters were joined by engines and battalion chiefs from Rancho Adobe and Rincon Valley fire departments.
One person suffered smoke inhalation and was taken to a hospital for treatment. Red Cross was called to aid the displaced residents.
As fire engines were being cleared from the first fire just before 9:24 p.m., callers reported another blaze about a mile-and-a-half to the south.
Engines were sent to a garage at the McDouall Apartments on College View Drive where flames were seen coming from a garage. The small fire apparently started in an area where garbage containers were kept, according to initial reports.
No more details were immediately available.
