Car seat safety check offered in Windsor

St. Joseph Health and the Windsor Police Department are co-sponsoring a free car seat safety check Saturday next to the Windsor Town Green.

Certified technicians from the CHP and local police departments will demonstrate proper installation of child car seats and offer tips on child safety from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. outside the Huerta Gymnasium, 9291 Old Redwood Highway.

"Seventy-five percent of all children's car seats are installed incorrectly," said Karli Tedeschi, injury prevention coordinator for St. Joseph Health.

For information or to make an appointment, call (800) 427-8982. People may also drop by during the event.

Last year more than 50 car seats were checked in four hours during the inaugural event.

Sonoma Raceway will display the No. 18 M&M's Toyota NASCAR show car and a five-eighths scale Legends race car during Saturday's event.
