SRJC student jailed in student center confrontation

A Santa Rosa Junior College student was arrested on campus Wednesday afternoon after bystanders reported a man who was challenging people to fight outside the student center, police said.

There were indications the man may be armed with a knife when confronting people outside Bertolini Hall, campus police said.

Officers who arrested Giovanni Khuri, 23, of Rohnert Park, found a knife on the ground near some bushes, authorities said.

He was arrested for suspicion of disturbing the peace on school grounds and violation of probation, authorities said.

Khuri remained at the Sonoma County Jail on Friday, jail personnel said. He was being held without bail.
