A 51-year-old Lakeport man was killed Sunday after losing control of his motorcycle and crashing on Bottle Rock Road in Lake County.

Louis Jennings was riding with two other motorcyclists at 5:40 p.m. when he lost control of his 2006 Yamaha motorcycle. He was westbound, riding approximately 30 mph when the motorcycle went over the north embankment of Bottle Rock Road west of Spring Hill Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Jennings was ejected from the motorcycle and sustained major injuries. He was taken to St. Helena Clearlake Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor. The incident is under investigation.
