Letter of the Day: A sham

 • If the Democrats would have read the Obamacare bill before they passed it, they might have realized the U.S. lawmakers and their staffs would have to pay their own premiums. So the leaders pleaded their case with the President and he gave his blessing to receive a federal contribution toward their health insurance. On Wednesday, the Office of Personnel Management OK'd the request.

A sham

EDITOR: Obamacare is a sham. If you look at the coverage for a number of the plans offered, a family or an individual must meet a high deductible to get the major part of the benefits. In many of these proposed plans, the out-of-pocket expense is $3,000 to $5,000 before the plan kicks in.

A plan with a deductible of $5,000 is running $289 a month, or $3,468 a year, so the out-of-pocket expense for the year is $8,468 before coverage kicks in. Also, there's no prescription coverage.

The only ones reaping the benefits for Obamacare are health insurers. They will be collecting the premiums and not paying out any coverage for the average individual. So is this health care, or will this just improve the profits for the insurers?

Obama must have worked on a farm at some point in his life, for this is the finest job of spreading manure I have ever seen.
