Clearlake man wounded in apparent pot robbery

A Clearlake man was shot and wounded Saturday morning in an apparent marijuana robbery in his residence.

The man, identified only as a 45-year-old, was being treated at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital for a gunshot wound to his upper body. His condition was unavailable late Saturday.

He apparently called 911 shortly after 7 a.m. seeking help. He told officers he was confronted at his house by four armed men around 3 or 4 a.m., Sgt. Nick Bennett said in a news release.

The robbers took an unknown amount marijuana, Bennett said.

Police advised citizens who have a card for legally possessing marijuana for medical purposes to be especially vigilant for suspicious people or vehicles around their property and to call law enforcement if they feel threatened.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact Detective Ryan Peterson at 994-8251, ext. 320.
