The man who died Saturday after being found unconscious in a kayak off of the Sonoma coast was a Tulare County resident.
Officials identified the man as Stan Ehnisz, 60.
Ehnisz was found Saturday morning off of Shell Beach in The Sea Ranch.
Firefighters were called at 10:40 a.m. about a diver in distress. A state parks lifeguard swam out to the man, who wasn't responding to efforts to revive him.
He was brought to shore and pronounced dead by paramedics. An autopsy was expected to be performed early this week.
