A man was injured Sunday when he drove into a building in the town of Bodega, the CHP said.

The crash took place just after 6:30 p.m. on Bodega Highway near Salmon Creek Road, along the quaint downtown strip of businesses and homes in the historic town a few miles inland from the Sonoma Coast.

The driver apparently drove through a guardrail before hitting a building, CHP Sgt. David Hoff said.

The driver suffered minor injuries in the crash and was being evaluated at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, Hoff said.

Details, including the identity of the man as well as the extent of damage to the building and the precise location of the crash, were not available late Sunday.
