Santa Rosa tennis party to raise money for Galvin Park courts

A tennis party at Galvin Park on Saturday will raise money for the Santa Rosa Tennis Club to improve and maintain the city-owned courts.

The Family Tennis Festival is from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the park at Yulupa Avenue and Bennett Valley Road.

Attractions include tennis-related clinics from adults and kids, live music, contests, food and beverages.

The tennis club asks that people who intend to come register at santarosatennisclub.org.

The club, founded by late Judge Hilliard Comstock in 1909, has stepped up to sponsor court refurbishing at a time when the city struggles for funds to maintain park facilities.
