This year, the spooky celebrations of Halloween include a handful of elegant costume parties and masquerade balls, adding a twist of grown-up glamour to the autumnal holiday.

The 10th annual Artstart Auction will throw a <b>Masquerade Party for Art</b> at 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19 at the DeTurk Round Barn, 819 Donahue St. in Santa Rosa. The Francis Ford Coppola Winery is rolling out the red carpet for a sparkling <b>Diamond Masquerade Ball</b> at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26 in the winery's barrel room. Party plans call for food and wine, a fortune teller and aerial artists, a DJ and dance floor, plus a costume contest. The Diavola Supper Club will host a <b>Hunter's Ball & Costume Party</b> in Geyserville from 7 p.m. until midnight Saturday, Oct. 26 at the Oddfellows Lodge 176, above Diavola restaurant. The evening begins with a prix fixe, family-style dinner by chef Dino Bugica of Diavola. Then the band will take the stage, led by Jack Sonni & Los Perros del Amor with the Leisure Class Horns. Trione Winery will hold a <b>Haunted Winery Halloween</b> from 6:30 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26 at the Geyserville winery, with dancing to Crazy Famous and DJ Dray Lopez, wine, auction and a photo booth. Tickets are $20, which includes one drink ticket, or $30 at the door, as a benefit for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Sonoma County.
