Brunch benefit for Ceres Project

Ceres Benefit Brunch at Zazu: On Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., teen chefs from Ceres Community Project take over Zazu Restaurant for a third annual benefit brunch.

Working with chef-owners Duskie Estes and John Stewart, the young chefs will offer delicious sweet and savory dishes, with 100 percent of the proceeds and tips going to Ceres Project, which provides meals to individuals suffering with cancer and other serious illnesses and their families.

Price is $39 for adults and $19.50 for children under 12. For reservations, call 523-4814.

Time To Smell the Roses: Russian River Rose Company's Perfume Rose Harvest Tours get started next Thursday, April 18, and continue on Thursday through Sunday until May 27.

Participants help harvest hundreds of scented roses and see the process of distilling rose water and rose oil up close. Each two-hour tour also includes organic tea service and entry into the display garden of 650 varieties of roses. The gift shop and rose nursery are open, as well.

All tours start at 9:30 a.m.

Classic tours on Thursday and Friday cost $10.95. Weekend tours are $14.95.
