Sebastopol police Sunday were searching for the shooter who vandalized at least six vehicles with what appeared to be a BB gun.

The vandalism was the second time in a month vehicles in the West Hills Circle residential complex have been shot up, Sgt. Greg DeVore said in a statement.

Residents in the area told officers that vehicles had previously been damaged with what appeared to be a BB gun over the weekend of Oct. 5 and 6, DeVore said.

On Sunday, a resident flagged down an officer on Bodega Avenue to report the most recent incidence, which appeared to have taken place Friday night, DeVore said. He said the damage was estimated at between $3,000 and $4,000.

Anyone with information about the case can call Sebastopol police at 829-4400.
