CHP: Sebastopol driver found with 105 pounds of pot

A Sebastopol man was arrested on suspicion of having 105 pounds of marijuana in garbage bags in a car, CHP officials said.

The tinted front windows of a northbound 2007 Infiniti M45 caught the attention of CHP Officer Brian Wood at about 8:20 a.m. Sunday on Stony Point Road near Hear Avenue, CHP Officer Jon Sloat said.

Wood pulled over the Infinity after driver Mario Humberto Zamora, 27, of Sebastopol turned onto Barndance Lane and then Ironstone Circle, Sloat said.

As Wood walked up to the Infiniti, he was overwhelmed by the strong odor of marijuana, according to Sloat.

The officer saw four large garbage bags in the passenger compartment filled with pot, Slot said. He found two more bags in the trunk, he said.

According to the CHP, Zamora told the officer he was hired to drive the marijuana but the pot wasn't his.

Zamora was arrested on suspicion of possession and transportation of marijuana for sale and driving without a license, Sloat said.
