Petaluma is seeking volunteers for vacancies on three committees that advise the City Council on a variety of community issues.

One seat is available on the Planning Commission to complete the unexpired term of JT Wick, who was hired as the county's planning director.

The position, which studies the establishment, modification of and application of the city's zoning codes and architectural guidelines, expires in June 2016.

One seat is available on the senior committee, which advises council on programs for senior citizens and the operation of the city's senior facilities. The term expires in June 2015.

One adult seat is available on the youth commission for a term that expires on June 30. The commission helps develop mentoring programs, substance abuse programs and youth recreation activities.

Applications and full descriptions of the committees are available at or the city clerk's office at City Hall, 11 English St. in Petaluma.

Applications are due by 10 a.m. Nov. 12.

The City Council will make appointments at its Nov. 18 7 p.m. council meeting.
