Partly sunny

3 hurt in rural Petaluma crash

Heavy fog may have been the cause of a Petaluma car crash Friday night that sent three people to the hospital, two with major injuries.

The accident occurred at 11 p.m. at Meacham Road at Pepper Road in Petaluma, said Captain Mike Weihman of Rancho Adobe Fire.

The intersection is shaped like a "T," but instead of stopping the car went into a field and crashed into trees, Weihman said.

The identities of the driver and passengers were not immediately available.
