A teenage driver was speeding when he crashed his pickup into a power pole late Wednesday, knocking out power in the Cobb Mountain and Kelseyville area, the CHP said.
The 17-year-old Kelseyville resident was driving at a high speed on Highway 29 and coming out of a sweeping left turn when he lost control, the CHP said.
After crashing into the power pole, the 1995 Chevrolet pickup rolled over several times before coming to rest on its roof.
The driver, whose name was not released, was trapped inside and had to be extricated, the CHP said. The crash took place at 10:05 p.m.
Kelseyville firefighters transported the driver to the store Kits Corner, where a medical helicopter flew him to UC Davis hospital.
The driver suffered minor injuries, the CHP said, and is suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol. The crash remains under investigation.
