Crash involving bus snarls Highway 101 commute traffic

An Airport Express bus returning from Oakland International Airport was in a crash involving at least four other vehicles late Thursday afternoon in Santa Rosa.

The crash blocked at least two lanes on Highway 101 south of Steele Lane for just over an hour. The accident happened in rush hour, at 5:15 p.m., and was cleared about 6:28 p.m.

Two ambulances transported some motorists and passengers to hospitals but it appeared there were no serious injuries, a county emergency dispatcher said.

The driver and four passengers on the bus were uninjured, said Tony Geraldi, general operations manager for Sonoma County Airport Express.

"We're fully cooperating with the authorities in the investigation and we will be conducting our own as well," he said.

More information was not immediately available.
