A male pedestrian was killed Friday evening while crossing Rohnert Park Expressway at Redwood Drive, a witness reported.

The victim was struck by a gray SUV in the intersection in front of the Chevron station about 5:25 p.m. Friday, witness John Delp said.

The driver, a woman who appeared to be upset, pulled over at the scene and waited for police to arrive, he said.

A Rohnert Park police dispatcher said investigators were at the scene and were not available for immediate comment.

Delp, who said he was the first person to reach the victim, checked him for a pulse and did not detect one.
