A Santa Rosa man remained in critical condition Monday following a truck crash late Sunday night at Highway 12 and Highway 101.

Tony Nguyen, 21, had been driving west on Highway 12 at about 10 p.m. when he lost control of his 2002 Ford F-150.

The truck swerved and left the roadway on the northern side of Highway 12, crossed over the connector ramp lane from northbound Highway 101 to westbound Highway 12 and rolled down a hill, CHP Officer Marcus Hawkins said.

The truck landed on its wheels. All of the truck's windows were broken and the roof partially collapsed, Hawkins said.

Emergency workers found Nguyen unconscious. They cut him free.

He was taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital.

Officers suspect alcohol was a factor in the crash.

From about 10 p.m. to 11:20 p.m., the CHP closed the connection ramp from northbound Highway 101 to westbound Highway 12 to allow crews to get to the victim and remove the vehicle.
