Suspected of drunken driving and speeding, a Kelseyville man Tuesday night drove into oncoming traffic on Highway 29 and crashed into another vehicle, according to the CHP.
Suspect driver Michael Woodbury, 34, and driver Gael Thornton, 76, of Merlin, Oregon, were both flown to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital with major injuries.
Thornton remained in critical condition Wednesday and Woodbury was in serious condition, hospital staff said.
The crash occurred at about 7:35 p.m. on Highway 29 just north of Manning Flats.
Woodbury was speeding south in a 2001 Toyota Sienna van, said a CHP report of the crash.
His van crossed double yellow lines and hit Thornton's 2000 Toyota Solara head on.
Officers said it appeared Woodbury also was driving at a high rate of speed.
Officers arrested him on suspicion of drunken driving.
