Firefighters battle Santa Rosa mobile home blaze

Two people went to a hospital Sunday to be treated for smoke inhalation after their mobile home caught fire, said a fire official.

The home was on El Capitan Way in southern Santa Rosa, south of Yolanda Avenue.

The fire was reported at 10:37 a.m. A Rincon Valley engine from the nearest station, on Todd Road, arrived first at 10:42 a.m., according to dispatch records.

Rincon Valley and Santa Rosa firefighters found the bathroom on fire and smoke throughout the home, said Rincon Valley fire Capt. Ryan Estes.

They stopped the fire from spreading, saving the double wide home.

The residents, a woman and her adult daughter, were suffering from smoke and were taken to a hospital. Their status wasn't available Sunday afternoon.

The cause of the fire remained unknown Sunday, although there had been some remodeling going on at the residence, Estes said.
