Memories on the Wind: The Russian River Rose Co. (1685 Magnolia Drive, Healdsburg) hosts Memorial Day Weekend Tea and Memories this weekend, when the rose garden will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

A highlight of the weekend is the Memorial Wishing Tree, where anyone can write a wish on a little piece of paper and tie it to the tree with a pretty ribbon. Slowly, the tree fills with messages, which flutter in the wind like hundreds of colorful butterflies. It's a truly beautiful and touching sight.

Visitors can take a self-guided tour of the 650 varieties of roses, meander through Rose Alle?and linger a while, with a cup of organic tea.

The nursery will be open throughout the holiday weekend, too.

Admission is a suggested donation of $4 for adults.

The first peaches! Dry Creek Peach and Produce is harvesting their first peaches of 2013 and will kick off their season at the Healdsburg Farmers Market this Saturday.

Weather cooperated during critical bloom and fruit set in March and proprietor Gayle Sullivan is expecting a solid season.

Rich May, a yellow peach, is the first to ripen, but in a few weeks, the harvest will pick up speed and, before you know it, it will be time for white Arctic Gems, an extraordinarily delicious midsummer peach that signals the peak of the season.

The farm stand will open in a few weeks, with new hours, new offerings and special events. Stay tuned for details.
