Motorcyclist suffers major injuries in Santa Rosa crash

A Santa Rosa man with a history of convictions for being an unlicensed driver crashed a motorcycle into another vehicle Monday morning and suffered major injuries, said the CHP.

At the hospital CHP officers arrested Antonio Medina, 22, suspecting he was riding the motorcycle despite not being licensed, said CHP Officer Jon Sloat.

At about 11:30 a.m. Medina hit the back of a Ford Escape driven by Marilyn Galloway on westbound Highway 12.

Galloway, 66, of Sebastopol had been driving at about 40 mph. Just west of Fulton Road the 1997 Suzuki 1000 sport bike came up behind her Ford at about 60 mph.

It wasn't clear why Medina hit the larger vehicle, said Sloat.

After hitting the Ford the man was thrown from the bike onto the highway. Medina was taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital.

Galloway wasn't injured, Sloat said.
