Mold closes children's room at Ukiah library

Mold has closed down the Children's Room at the Ukiah Library.

Mendocino County officials announced Friday that they closed the room as a precaution after mold was detected.

"We are expecting to hear from our contractors next week as far as a timeline for the mold mitigation process," County Librarian Mindy Kittay said in a statement.

In the meantime, she said some of the children's books would be moved to the main library areas, but the children's programs are suspended.

Updates are available by calling the Ukiah branch at 463-4490, or going to mendolibrary.org.
