Portion of Highway 116 in Petaluma to close this weekend

Eastbound Highway 116 will be closed in Petaluma this weekend as Caltrans continues work widening Highway 101.

Workers will begin pile-driving in the median of Highway 116 at Highway 101 on Saturday, necessitating a closure of all eastbound lanes.

The road will be closed from 6 a.m. Saturday until 1 a.m. Monday.

During the closure, traffic will detour to Caulfield Lane and South McDowell Boulevard, then return to Highway 116/Lakeville Highway.

Caltrans warns residents and businesses will notice increased construction noise during the weekend.

Pile driving will occur between 7 a.m. and 11 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
