The Butte County Sheriff's Office on Tuesday released photographs of two suspects from the Santa Rosa area wanted in the death of a Santa Rosa man during a failed home-invasion robbery near Oroville last month.
Two Sonoma County men are being held on murder charges in the death of Hector Gabriel, 24, who was shot by an occupant of the home where the Nov. 26 robbery attempt occurred. A Butte County sheriff's detective said the killing appeared to be self-defense.
Two of Gabriel's suspected accomplices, Santa Rosa resident Salvador Mendoza Jr., 38, and Yonatan Tesfazghi, 19, of Sebastopol, face murder charges on the theory their criminal conduct resulted in Gabriel's death, authorities said.
Butte County Sheriff's Detective Ryan Gsell has said investigators believe all the suspects in the case were armed when they entered the home.
The two remaining suspects, whose identities have not been released by authorities, are both believed to be Latino males in their 20s.
Anyone with information in the case should contact Gsell at (530) 538-7671.
