Plans for a new 39-room hotel in downtown Healdsburg will be unveiled Wednesday evening in a public informational meeting.

The developers of the Hotel Healdsburg and h2hotel will describe their plans for a third hotel to built on a parking lot just south of the plaza.

A proposal by the Kessler Group to build a 75-room, five-story hotel just across the street was withdrawn after concerns were raised over the project's height and density.

The Kessler proposal also stoked a debate over whether there should be a limit on the number of hotels downtown and whether Healdsburg's small town charm is threatened by too much tourism, traffic and scant parking.

Tonight's meeting from 5:30 to 7 will be held in the green room of h2hotel.

The architect and development team will give a presentation and answer questions.
