Woman flown from Cazadero to Santa Rosa after snake bite

A 34-year-old woman was taken by helicopter to a Santa Rosa hospital late Tuesday after reportedly being bitten by a rattlesnake.

The woman, who was not identified, was reportedly bitten in the right lower leg at about 8 p.m. The call came in from Bei Road in Cazadero, Monte Rio Fire Chief Steve Baxman said.

The woman was conscious and talking when she was moved into a REACH helicopter and flown to Sutter Hospital in Santa Rosa, Baxman said. The helicopter landed at Laurel Dell Avenue and Hwy. 116.

The woman reportedly told emergency crews that she was bitten before, in August 2012.
