Pickup truck, trailer burns in Ukiah garage fire

Residents of a Ukiah-area home were displaced late Thursday night by a garage fire that destroyed a pickup truck and a travel trailer before spreading into the attic of the Redemeyer Road house, fire personnel said.

The 11:47 p.m. blaze was under investigation Friday. It was unclear if it started inside or outside the garage, Ukiah Valley Fire engineer Doug Stone said.

The burned vehicles were parked in front of and behind the garage, which was destroyed.

While some of the ceiling was damaged in the firefight, the flames were largely confined to the attic of the house, Stone said, so much of the structure was saved.

No one was injured, fire officials said.
