* The 49ers remain interested in re-signing veteran offensive tackle Tony Pashos. "But I know he feels good about what we're doing," Singletary said. "Hopefully, it works itself out. It has to work for both sides and hopefully it gets done."

* Veteran cornerback Walt Harris, who was sidelined in 2009 by a torn knee ligament, is planning to resume his career. McCloughan said it's too early to tell if Harris will return to the 49ers. "We're not there, yet," he said. "There are some medical concerns."

* When asked if it's time for the 49ers to start planning to eventually replace safety Michael Lewis, McCloughan pointed to Reggie Smith and Curtis Taylor as two recent draft picks who have chances to fill that role.
