The Santa Rosa Cycling Club's "Ten Great Rides" web page (srcc.memberlodge.com) recommends starting this ride from Santa Rosa's Youth Community Park on Fulton Road, which offers parking and rest rooms.

From there, the route meanders through the countryside via Piner, West Olivet, Oakwild, River and Trenton-Healdsburg Roads, with an opportunity to stop for refreshments at Windsor's town green.

"The Windsor Plain ride is ideal, particularly for people who are looking to enjoy Wine Country, because most of the route is through vineyards, without any major climbs," Clinton said.

"The roads are winding, but the traffic is relatively light, so for inexperienced riders, the ride offers a pleasant experience, even though they are sharing the road with motor vehicles," he added.
