Santa Rosa repeat DUI offender arrested with two children in car

A Santa Rosa woman stopped Sunday evening for speeding on River Road was arrested on suspicion of driving drunk with two children in her car, the CHP said Monday.

Kesley Mowry, 40, has one prior conviction for DUI and was on probation at the time of this arrest, said Officer Jon Sloat, CHP spokesman.

Mowry was one of 21 people arrested by the CHP in Sonoma County during the weekend on suspicion of drunken driving. Five of the drivers were arrested after accidents. There were no major injuries.

Eight of the 21 drivers were either unlicensed or were driving on a suspended license. Six drivers had prior drunken driving convictions, Sloat said.

Mowry was driving on River Road at about 7:15 p.m. Friday when she was stopped for exceeding 70 mph. The officer concluded she was intoxicated and arrested her. The two young children were given to a family member.

Mowry was arrested on suspicion of child endangerment, drunken driving and violating probation and was was released Sunday from Sonoma County Jail after posting bail.
