A woman cut free from her wrecked car Monday night after smashing into an oak tree on Bennett Valley Road was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving, the CHP reported.
Pamela Bushling, 31, of Santa Rosa remained at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital on Tuesday. A hospital spokeswoman listed her condition as good.
The crash was reported at about 8:50 p.m. Monday when a passerby walked into the Bennett Valley fire station and alerted firefighters.
They found a 2001 Saturn sedan crumpled head on into the tree and the conscious woman trapped inside.
Bushling was driving west on the rural east Santa Rosa route when she lost control of the car and ran off the roadway, reported the CHP. She crashed about one mile east of Yulupa Avenue.
Firefighters worked about 20 minutes to free her. She was taken by ambulance to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital with moderate injuries.
