MILL VALLEY ? Somebody in the Bay Area is starting the week off as a new millionaire.
State lottery officials say a ticket worth $75 million was sold at a Mill Valley gas station over the weekend.
A lottery spokeswoman says the ticket sold at Strawberry Chevron on Redwood Highway was one of three winning tickets for a Mega Millions prize worth a total of $225 million.
The other two winning tickets were sold in Ohio and Virginia, with each winner due $75 million.
The lucky California winner will be able to claim the his or her winnings at a state lottery office.
The gas station that sold the ticket is also in for a bit of a windfall.
Lottery officials say the station will receive a $375,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
