Santa Rosa police identified the young man killed in a stabbing attack Saturday evening as Juan Carlos Angel-Esparza.
Officers found the 20-year-old lying in the front outside corridor of Kawana Elementary School in southern Santa Rosa.
Officers were called at 5:06 p.m. about someone being shot at the school on Moraga Drive, reported Sgt. Steve Fraga.
Officers found a wounded, unresponsive man in the front entrance to the school. He was taken to a hospital but couldn't survive what appeared to be multiple stab wounds to his upper torso, Fraga said.
Officers secured the scene and gang and violent crime detectives and crime scene technicians worked through the night on the homicide.
A reward is being offered for $2,500 for information leading to the arrest of those responsible.
The money is available through the Take Back Our Community Program offered by the Sonoma County Alliance.
Fraga asked anyone with information to contact detectives at 543-3590.
