A 16-year-old Forestville teen with a new driver's license now is suspected of felony drunken driving after crashing a truck, the CHP reported.
She was legally intoxicated at 7:30 a.m. Friday after she'd been drinking hard alcohol during the prior night, said CHP Officer Jon Sloat.
The teen was driving with two friends in a Dodge Ram truck on Old River Road at Canyon Road in Forestville when she apparently lost control.
The truck ran off the road and overturned, Sloat said.
The driver, and passenger Britnee Brasher, 17, of Forestville were taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital with cuts and scrapes and evaluation for injuries, Sloat said.
The driver was not named because she is a juvenile arrested on suspicion of drunken driving.
Officers will ask the District Attorney's Office to file felony drunken driving charges against her because of the injury to another person in the car.
Sloat said the teen received her driver's license in May. Driving with other teens in the car also violated her provisional license, which prohibits new drivers from driving others for one year unless there is an adult of at least 25 years in the car.
Officers said they also will seek that license violation charge against her.
