A Santa Rosa police checkpoint conducted Thursday in west Santa Rosa resulted in 22 arrests, including three for drunken driving and 18 for driving without a valid license, authorities said.

Officers screened 787 of the 1,191 vehicles that passed through the checkpoint on Stony Point Road north of West Ninth Street, police Sgt. Rich Celli said.

The results included:

- two traffic citations;

- seven vehicle impounds;

- 15 arrests for driving while unlicensed;

- three arrests for driving with a suspended license;

- one warrant arrest;

- three arrests for driving while intoxicated.

The checkpoint was the 10th conducted by the department this year, Celli said, funded by the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
