Authorities say a disabled garbage truck on northbound Highway 101 in Petaluma caused a major traffic back-up Friday morning because of a gasoline and oil spill across part of the roadway.
The road was all clear by 8:40 a.m., but for two hours prior was blocked by Caltrans and fire crews using absorbent products to clean up the spill, fire and CHP personnel said.
The incident was reported around 6:28 a.m. when the truck began blocking the northbound slow lane at or above the Petaluma River, the CHP said.
