Motorcyclist hurt in Santa Rosa crash

A 25-year-old Sebastopol man sustained moderate injuries when he lost control of his speeding motorcycle Saturday evening near the south end of Santa Rosa, the CHP said.

Kevin Castro was transported to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital following the crash at 6:35 p.m. on Gorel Court, west of Moorland Avenue.

The CHP said Castro was riding a 2010 Harley Davidson motorcycle west on Gorel Court at a "high rate of speed," lost control and hit the ground. He was not wearing a helmet the CHP said.

The riderless motorcycle continued westbound and crashed into a home in the 200 block of Gorel Court, causing "significant damage" but no additional injuries, the CHP said.

Castro was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.
